Ferrari Challenge World Final – another Championship 2023 for MERTEL Motorsport

Take a moment to let that sink in. What more to say? A lot actually. Ferrari Challenge Finali Mondiali 2023 in Mugello. It was a heck of a racing event for Martinus in Coppa Shell AM . With excitement, drama, hard work, skilled driving, good strategy and racing on the point. What characterised Martinus and the team was the absolute will to fight and win. And this worked out the best way. Considering the free practice crash that led to a car change, which the team accomplished 5 minutes prior to the qualifying which was happening under monsoon like rain! The P3 in class and P6 overall was an incredible result given the circumstances! Motorsport at heart, brains to race mode and a team that makes the dreams come true!! This all supported him to achieve an incredible P1 in class again in the first race.

Our new driver #42 Matthias Tomann also delivered a strong performance in Trofeo Pirelli AM who entered the competition for the first time. Same crazy weather, going into race 1 from P14 (class), P20 (overall). Maybe not P1 but the performance considering the experience of #42 Matthias Tomann was incredible. Perfect start under even worse conditions he managed to improve to P10 after 30 minutes of racing on Mugello Circuit! We are so proud and once again, the team delivered a 100% job! In race 2 Matthias was able to defend his position and thus finish his first Ferrari Challenge season on Friday save and proud in an eventful race.

As effort and perseverance become a habit, sometimes you get that sweet feeling of payout – and what a drive Martinus did again as it came to the Finali Mondiali, the World Finals! In the Qualifying he achieved a P2 which led him to the Superpole Coppa Shell AM Qualifying. And he made it! With an extraordinary P1 in the Superpole he positioned himself in the best way for the World Final race.
Full control over the SHELL AM squad he scored yet not only another victory in the 2023 Ferrari Challenge Europe season, he raced to a triumphal victory in his class to his WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Coppa Shell AM in the Finali Mondiali of the Ferrari Challenge 2023 in Mugello!

We are unbelievable happy and proud of Martinus and his victorious season! Even if not racing every round, he achieved additionally to the World Championship a P4 in the Championship of the Ferrari Challenge Europe 2023 in class.
