MERTEL Motorsport with the magnificent seven – a gang of seven Ferrari 488 Challenge will attack in the GT Cup Europe at Hockenheimring
Leading the Championship in the Pro class after round 1 in Portimao with Luca Ludwig and Ivan Velasco, MERTEL Motorsport decided to upgrade. The seventh Ferrari 488 Challenge with No.86 will be piloted by another interesting driver combination: Martinus Richter and Davit Kajaia.
Martinus Richter, German surgeon from the Nuremberg region trusted MERTEL Motorsport from the beginning to enter the Ferrari Challenge Europe in 2022 and achieved P3 in the Coppa Shell AM Championship. 2023 he raced even to Ferrari Challenge World Champion AM! Now he is back on track to compete with his team. This time n the GT Cup Europe. Davit Kajaia, an successful and also experienced driver from Georgia, starts the second season with MERTEL Motorsport in the TCR Eastern Europe. Smart in strategy and sharp like a knife on the track both drivers will go straight forward in the race on the Hockenheimring, which is this year’s home race of MERTEL Motorsport.

Competing near our home base we are keen to deliver a great show and successful races. It will be fun to attack with a lot of fans and friends attending us this weekend. And with a seven car entry – a whole lot of cars, but the team ist prepared and we can’t wait to get on track at the famous Hockenheimring. And by the way – as we are the motorsport team of the Official Ferrari Dealer MERTEL Italo Cars Nürnberg – you can never have enough Ferraris …”
Luca Ludwig and Ivan Velasco in car No 80 are prepared to defend the Championship lead and reach out to the podium again in the Pro Class. Also attacking again to climb up the Championship chart are No 81 Alvaro Lobera and Fernando Navarrete, Leon Chen and Mark Speakerwas with No. 82, the female driver couple Alba Vasquez and Laura von den Hengel with No. 83, Stefano Bozzoni and Arturo Melgar with No. 84 and Jorge Cabezas and Anny Frosio on No. 85. And new entry Martinus Richter and Davit Kajaia with No. 86.
